September 17th 2026 Newsletter. What's been happening at Crafted by Alison plus updates from Stampin' Up®
Hello & welcome to my latest newsletter.
Thank you for taking the time to read my musings & craft offerings. I hope all is well in your world.
A quieter week for us this week. We went to the Grand Final of my son's team & they played incredibly well against the team expected to win, leading for nearly all of the game. After a lengthy medical break in the last quarter, the game changed direction & the opposition seemed to get their wind back, kicking 2 goals in the final 5 minutes to draw level. Back & forth it went until they kicked a point.... and the siren went! We were all devastated but also so proud of the amazing game they played with key players missing through injury or suspension. An amazing year of football with lots of setbacks & a determination to fight & work together to get to the final game of the year.
So, now it's time off for a while before pre-season. This means we won't see as much of Oscar as usual but we did have him overnight after the Grand Final. He'd been at the vets the day before with continual vomiting & needed monitoring while 'Dad' was at the rooms with the team. Happily, he was well enough to leave during the game (with security cameras monitored) & has fully recovered.
I picked up a days work at the local college for practise exams which tested out my ankle with continual walking amongst the tables. It was sore but held up with a little resting once home.
Just as the footy is over, along comes bowls.
Rob starts his pennant practise games on the weekend with Tuesdays already started. I'll go along this week but will not attend all of them across the season as they are far & wide across town & take up a big chunk of my crafting time! LOL But this first week will be lovely with 27 degrees forecast after a few cold days. Nice.
Socially, we held a 'scones & tea' morning at our home today for our Probus friends. It was scheduled at another members house but she was unable to hold it due to a protracted bout of a few type virus. So we stepped in and offered our home instead. We had a great turn out with big pots of tea & lots of different scones (and a yummy brownie) going down a treat. We got out all of our 'good china' from my mum & my husband's family & had a lovely time chatting, eating & enjoying the company.
On the crafting front, I shared 2 more ways of using embossing folders for my Sunday post & yesterday I created with the new Impressions Plate which gives a subtle embossed effect with special dies. The other crafting I was able to complete was a swap card for a Chain Card Swap I am participating in over the next few weeks. It's a new venture for me as it involves a blog hop which I've never done before. I've visited lots but am excited to stretch myself creatively as learning & trying new things is how we grow! I received my 2026 Virtual Card Retreat box full of goodies & have also started looking at prepping for the Online Stamping Retreat as well as the Virtual Retreat so there will be lots of work done but only in preparation in the coming week.

One of the latest Stampin' Up!®s craft classes is the gorgeous Advent-ures class where you can create an Advent calendar made up of decorated boxes, ready to pop lots of lovely treats inside. It is being held tomorrow, 18th September but will be available for purchase & to view with a link to an exclusive Facebook page.
World Card Making Day Virtual Card Retreat
To celebrate World Card Making Day 2026, SU have created a product filled kit with supplies to make 15 beautiful cards.
