Hello & welcome to my blog. I hope you are all well.

My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator.

I love to create beautiful things to share with people that I love but I also sell me creations. I have been creating things in one way or another for most of my life - knitting, sewing, cooking, card making, gardening, scrap booking & hand made gifts & in 2020 after joining Stampin' Up® I decided to share my passion in a blog (craftedbyalison@blogspot.com).

In 2025 I retired & decided to spread my creative wings a little more by combining my blog, products that I had been selling on FaceBook & launching a newsletter. Some of these things I had already been doing but this time they are all in the one place. (All previous posts can be found at my blogspot address above if you would like to read any of them.)

I post twice a week, on Wednesdays when I look at techniques, tips & tools, funfolds, Paper Pumpkin kit alternatives, colouring - techniques, challenges & ways to combine them as well as card sketches. My other posting day is Sunday where I share ideas to create with kits, ways to use up your scraps, DSP, stamps, dies, embossing folders, scrapbooking & memory keeping, 3D projects as well as C.A.S.Eing (Copy & Share Everthing) & Mystery Stamping. There's always something new to share!

This week I am sharing 2 easy cards made with supplies from the September Paper Pumpkin kit - Aspens of Gratitude.

I used the fronts of two of the cards from the kit to create these two new cards...

First of all though, here is a pic of the original cards made using the kit instructions...

To create my alternatives I cut two card fronts so that I had the images only then cut them again to create a funfold & a shadow slats card. Let's look at the funfold first.

This was very easy to make. The Gray Granite card base was scored in half then the front was scored in half again. I cut 4 Cajun Craze mattes all the same size as the front section. Then I simply cut the front of one card into 2 pieces & the rest of the original card & attached them all to the base - image, plain, plain, image.

The sentiment is from the July Product of the Month - Begonia Belle, stamped on one of the diecuts from the kit & mounted it on a Cajun Craze strip with some Linen Thread behind it. Lastly, I added a few of the gorgeous gems from the kit.

Super quick & easy. Now let's look at the second card which starts with a Gray Granite base in a landscape orientation.

This time I used blending blushes to add Timid Tiger & Cajun Craze at the top of the card to create a sunset effect & Mossy Meadow at the bottom to create shadows. I cut it into 4 equal strips with a smaller strip left over (this was used to decorate the inside of the card) & matted them with Mossy Meadow cardstock.

The sentiment from Garden Gatherings, is stamped in Early Espresso on one of the sentiment diecuts & has half of a banner from the kit at the bottom. It was added to the card with dimensionals & the card was finished with a few of the gems.

I love how with just a little bit of blending the whole vibe of the card front is changed.
