See the lovely ways this fun die can be used.
Hello & welcome to my blog. I hope you are all well.
My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator.
I love to create beautiful things to share with people that I love but I also sell me creations. I have been creating things in one way or another for most of my life - knitting, sewing, cooking, card making, gardening, scrap booking & hand made gifts & in 2020 after joining Stampin' Up® I decided to share my passion in a blog (craftedbyalison@blogspot.com).
In 2025 I retired & decided to spread my creative wings a little more by combining my blog, products that I had been selling on FaceBook & launching a newsletter. Some of these things I had already been doing but this time they are all in the one place. (All previous posts can be found at my blogspot address above if you would to read any of them.)
And here we are at my new site!
In my post on Sunday I mentioned that my husband had progressed in his bowls tournament to the knockout round of 64. Well. He won that round & then the round of 32, and 16 until he made it into the quarter finals where his talent, or luck, finally ran out. He did an amazing job & bowled the best he's ever bowled. I'm so proud of his hard work & focus. Getting to the final 8 out of over 300 entries is an awesome effort!! Needless to say, we didn't make it home for Mother's day. In fact we only got home yesterday afternoon!
So today's cards were whipped up quickly, thankfully one of the card fronts had been started a few weeks ago when I was having a play around with the lovely Eyelet Blooms die, April's Product of the Month.
Thank goodness I did have that started as I also had to attend some training today. Busy, busy.
So, let's look at my two creations made with this lovely die.

This week I have chosen Autumnal colours, after all, we are currently in Autumn, even if we have had a spate of lovely mild days & I love their softness.
Let's start with the first card.

This first card has a very simple focus - the pattern created by the die.
I chose the rich tone of Cajun Craze for the base & Very Vanilla.
On the Very Vanilla matte I stamped a sentiment from the new stamp set, Phrases & Frames & heat embossed it in Copper.
Over this layer I added a diecut piece of Cajun Craze but I trimmed the bottom section of the matte away to leave a delicate, wavy pattern.
Now, as this die has a LOT of teeny, tiny holes as part of the pattern, you will need to find a way to get all of those little tiny pieces out of your cardstock without spending ages with a tool. I have the brush end for my Take Your Pick tool that works well but you do have to be mindful of not pushing too had when rolling so that the paper doesn't warp. I have seen other people post different ways that they have used including using dryer sheets or running the die through the machine up side down. You do what works for you.
Back to finishing off the card. I simply added a few Adhesive Backed Metallic gems with a coppery finish to them & that was the card finished.

For the second card I chose to use the die as a background.

The flower is from Simply Beautiful & is heat embossed in copper then coloured with Calypso Coral & Old Olive water colour pencils & a water painter.
The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive to bring out the green of the leaves.
I backed this with some Strawberry Slush Two Tone cardstock & also cut a larger matte for the front of the card in the same cardstock.
The diecut layer uses Petal Pink cardstock which compliments the water colour section of the flower.
The two mattes were adhered to the Basic White base with the image layer attached with dimensionals.
The finishing touch were some green Dewdrop embellishments to tie all of the colours together.
I hope you enjoyed seeing two different ways to use this lovely die. Sadly, this die is now SOLD OUT but if you were quick enough to grab one when they were available, have a play around with it & have a little fun. There are lots of ideas on Google & Pinterest as well as YouTube.
That's all I have for you for now. My next post will be on Sunday when I will have a brand new embossing folder to share with you.
Next week's mid week post will feature a fun fold. One of my favourite ways to craft.
If you have been following my journey around Shepparton & saw my posts on Facebook or in my newsletter of all the gorgeous painted cows they have from their art exhibition, I will be posting more on FB & also sharing them in my newsletter tomorrow.
For now though, that's all I have except some handy links below to some of the products I used & some other useful craft room tools.
Til next time, take care & keep creating. XX Alison
