A simple scrapbook design from the January - April 2026 mini catalogue.
Hello & welcome to my mid week blog.
My name is Alison & I live in beautiful Melbourne, Australia & I am an independent Stampin' Up® demonstrator.
I love to create beautiful things to share with people that I love but I also sell me creations. I have been creating things in one way or another for most of my life - knitting, sewing, cooking, card making, gardening, scrap booking & hand made gifts & in 2020 after joining Stampin' Up® I decided to share my passion in a blog (craftedbyalison@blogspot.com).
In 2025 I retired & decided to spread my creative wings a little more by combining my blog, products that I had been selling on FaceBook & launching a newsletter. Some of these things I had already been doing but this time they are all in the one place. (All previous posts can be found at my blogspot address above if you would to read any of them.)
And here we are at my new site!
My mid week posts look at techniques, tools & tips, colouring ideas & techniques, sketches & funfolds. This week I am sharing a sketch from the Jan - Apr '26 mini catalogue for a scrapbook or memory keeping layout. I scrapbooked when my kids were little but at that stage I didn't have a dedicated craft area & the constant set up, pack up & distraction meant that at some stage the pack up was a more permanent one. Since Stampin' Up® purchased some of the products from Close To My Heart when the company folded, they have had more information, products & ideas for memory keeping & that has prompted me to dabble a little more with scrapbooking. I hope you enjoy today's layout - an Easter spread that will be used for some photos from when my kids were little & went on Easter Egg hunts.

This spread was inspired by a layout on page 17 of the Jan - Apr '26 mini catalogue...

I liked the simplicity of the layout which allows for 3 pictures but could also have more smaller ones added if needed.
I started with a piece of Easter Joy DSP that had a grassy background with eggs & blooms then pulled out the Easter Basket stamps to stamp, colour & fussy cut lots of Easter images - bunnies, chicks, eggs & carrots.
Here's a closeup of some of the images on the page...

There were a lot of different, fun colours used - Pumpkin Pie, Petunia Pop, Darling Duckling, Cloud Cover, Shy Shamrock, Pretty in Pink, Smoky Slate, Pecan Pie & (retired) Pebbled Path inks plus Shy Shamrock, Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly, Peach Pie, Bubble Bath & Pretty in Pink blends.
Next, I diecut 3 arches in different sizes from the two tone Early Espresso & Crumb Cake papers. I also used the Everyday Arches dies to diecut a Basic White matte that I had stamped & coloured some images for a previous project & added some Smoky Slate journalling lines on it with the Address To You stamp set.
The banners are two tone Crushed Curry paper.
Once I had all of the images cut out & the two tone pieces in place I played around with where to place all of the eggs & creatures. After I had them all in place I decided I wanted MORE! LOL. So I stamped some more eggs & brought out the Crumb Cake paper again & diecut a basket & wove some strips through the slits to achieve a woven basket finish. This was filled with a lot of the extra eggs & any leftovers were added to the piles, trailed down the photo frames & then I was happy with the page.

So, that's my scrapbook sketch completed. I hope you enjoyed the process & the finished effect. I will add some links to my shop for the products I used at the end of this post.
My next post is on Sunday when I will share a great bundle called Filled with Sweetness. I love to cook jams & relishes & this set is perfect for gifting my jams but is also a cute every day set.
Next week's mid week post will look at Colour. I will be using one of the colour swatch cards to create.
I hope you can join me for both of them.
Til next time, take care & keep creating! XX Alison
